Microdose Mushroom Capsules Boost Mood and Energy
While much of the media attention surrounding microdose mushroom capsules focuses on larger doses of psychedelic substances such as LSD and psilocybin (magic mushrooms), small amounts of these drugs also are of interest to some people. Known as microdoses, these lower doses are said to provide benefits such as reduced depression and anxiety.
While some research suggests that microdosing with psilocybin may improve mental health, it is still too early to know how these effects compare with those of existing treatments. Further, the researchers stress that some of the observed improvements in mood and mental wellbeing may be attributable to expectancies and other longitudinal confounds, and that more controlled scientific studies comparing microdosing with non-microdosing controls are needed.
The Benefits of Microdose Mushroom Capsules for Daily Use
Ariel, who lives in the north metro suburbs and has three children ages 4 to 15, sells a variety of mushroom capsules online that range from 0.1 milligrams to 0.5 milligrams each. She is one of a growing number of mothers who say they use these microdoses to boost their mood and energy, as well as their ability to focus, create, innovate and empathize with others.
She has seen her business double in the past year, and she and her husband Trevor, who runs an IT firm, are making $50,000 a month from their sales. Despite the renaissance in psychedelic research, the compounds most commonly used for microdosing — including LSD and psilocybin — remain Schedule 1 Drugs under the United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances and Class A under the UK Misuse of Drugs Act, meaning that only scientists with licences from the Home Office are allowed to acquire them for study purposes.
